The Drunk Beaver Secret Sauce builds on the classic Harmonic Percolator, a unique fuzz/distortion circuit made famous by Steve Albini.
The warm, fuzzy sound of the Harmonic Percolator is the result of a beautiful synergy between even-order harmonics and the silicon/germanium transistor set.
The Secret Sauce takes this brilliant recipe and adds a buffered pickup simulator to allow you to place this pedal anywhere in your signal chain, and an innovative Compression control to manage how much of the signal is passed through the diode clipping stage.
There are also transistor and clipping diode options, and a Symmetry dial to adjust anywhere between fully symmetrical clipping (fully clockwise) and fully asymmetrical (fully anti-clockwise).
The result is a versatile take on the Harmonic Percolator, with a visceral, textural grit which cuts through heavy mixes but still imparts plenty of warmth.
Harmonics - Adjusts the gain level of the fuzz
Output - Adjusts the overall output level
Compression - Adjusts how much of the signal is passed to the diode clipping stage
Symmetry - Adjust between symmetrical or asymmetrical diode clipping
Diodes toggle - Toggle between Germanium (NOS Soviet D311) or Silicon (BAT85) diodes.
Transistor toggle - Toggle between Germanium (NOS Soviet 1T320B) and Silicon (BC307) transistor (paired with a NOS GT404B (ГТ404Б) germanium transistor)
LED brightness trimmer - placed on the PCB, this trimmer allows you to adjust the brightness of the status LED
I'll be away from my pedalboard over the festive period...but you can still browse!
I'll ship all outstanding orders on Friday 3rd January.
Happy new year!
